ANDY BENAVIDES / ARTIST
Andy creates his world. He is a community leader, arts activist and professional contemporary artist. Founder of Benavides Picture Framing and Benavides Studio, Inc. doing business since 1998, Founder and owner of The 1906, Co-founder and Executive Director of S.M.A.R.T. 501c3,
Co-founder Southtown The Arts District.

YVETTE BENAVIDES / ARTIST
In 2001, Yvette fell into the 1906. A die hard arts advocate, her passion is providing opportunity for others, building her nonprofit and ensuring The 1906 stays a safe place for creative expression. Recently inspired to take up ceramics, she likes to laugh, has a quick wit and one husband and one kid who are the lights of her life. Owner of The 1906, Co-founder and Director of S.M.A.R.T. 501c3, Co-founder Southtown The Arts District.

DOUGLAS GALLOWAY / ARTIST
Douglas paints stories. The colors in his work immediately transport you to a place and a feeling. Plus his smile lights up a room and he loves our dog.

JACOB HURST / WRITER
Jacob creates lands in far away places. A writer and "imaginer" changing our everyday lives, for just a minute.

LINDA LANG / PAINTER
Linda has had a presence in our building since 2001. She is a painter and a teacher of painting. Her voice is gentle, she travels a lot and enjoys life.

HILARY ROCHOW / ARTIST
Hilary is a designer, illustrator and graphic artist. She is a visual communicator with an eye for the exceptional. She's also an animal lover with 3 critters of her own: dogs Tilly and Marnie and Franklin the cat.

ALEJANDRO AUGUSTINE PADILLA / ARTIST
Alex has the smallest space in the building and he likes it that way. His work attempts to convey the feelings of isolation that often occur with anxiety. Don't let him fool you though - he is VERY funny and smart as hell. Founder and owner of Studio Fantomas.

ANGIE RIOJAS / ARTIST
Angie is a quiet creative. She creates behind her walls and when she brings it out you're like whaaaat?! Her work is conceptual and expressed in many different mediums. Always surprising and engaging. Plus she's an incredible stylist if your hair needs love.

ANITA BECERRA / CERAMICIST
Anita is a ceramicist and sculptor. She makes work that makes you feel good, taking the traditional craft of clay and producing modern, simple, inspirational pieces. Her life is anchored by 3 creative kiddos and a dog named Tobey.

DAVID "SHEK" VEGA / URBAN ARTIST
Shek is an active urban artist who runs a gallery, who runs a non-profit, who designs apparel, who paints murals with his buddy all over the United States and is doing good things all the way around. Passionate. Committed. And funny.

SANDY WHITBY / PAINTER
Sandy has been a calming presence in our building since 2001. Her studio comes to life with abstract paintings. Sandy "continues to seek the balance between unexpected accidents and deliberate intention…"

JAMES "SUPA" MEDRANO / ARTIST
Supa's paintings take iconic American t.v. and film characters, flips them on their heads and gives them a bit of a darker twist. He loves the 80's, talks fast and plays good music in his studio. Founder and owner of FLATLINES GALLERY.

JOE DE LA CRUZ / ARTIST
Joe draws. A LOT. Where he used to come to us for guidance, emerging artists now go to him for mentorship and advice. He's perfect for it. Joe lectures and exhibits all over our great city. Founder and owner of Silkwörm Studio & Gallery.

MICHELLE HERNANDEZ / CERAMICIST
